[Picture: Background: 6 piece pie style colour split with beige and woodland green alternating. Foreground: a head-on photo of a disgruntled looking white sheep. Top text: “SOC professor suggests that non-Western cultures are ‘technologically inferior’ and ‘need our help’” Bottom text: “ask yourself how she ever got her PhD”]

Soc friends from APSU will understand who exactly this is asdfghjkl

Weight: 145. Measurements: 36-30-38. And after 18 years of life, I’ve finally realized that im beautiful just the way i am.  Pretty Hot And Thick. PHAT and Proud! :)

Question for my body positive / FA friends: This girl identifies as thick. Is that problematic? She looks like a thin person to me. What are the measurements that qualify you for thickness / curviness / fatness? At what point do you get to (proudly) call yourself fat and not have fatter people look down their noses at you for not recognizing your own privilege?

I have the same question as speakgirl.  If I’m not mistaking, these are my measurements…and I wouldn’t call myself thick/fat.  If anything, I would say I’m curvy in the butt and thighs but I’m still below the national average.  I wear a size 6 and the average is a size 12, at least from what I’ve read, but correct me if I’m wrong.

Either way, this lady is beautiful no matter what she classifies herself and no matter if she gains or loses weight.  And maybe the label is what we should be fighting against anyway.  What does it matter whether she’s considered “fat” or “thin?”  She’s (presumably) healthy and happy

^ Thank you… i submitted this photo because im still uncomfortable with a regular face forward photo of me cuz im very conscious of what my stomach, face, arms, legs.. and so forth look like. i am beginning to accept what i look like tho. I’ve had my sister greet me by saying “omg look at your gut”… im used to being the “bigger one” in my group of friends and even family.. Guys always tell me “your legs a big, but thats cool”.. so what do you expect me to feel about myself? That im a skinny motherfuck? No. Thats why i submitted this photo.. and now i feel off for doing it, cuz people have so much bullshit to say.

I don’t think you have any reason to feel self conscious, like I said, you’re beautiful:]  And don’t feel “off” for submitting the photo.  I believe it’s important to break down the walls that society has constructed us to live in when it comes to our weight and figures.  “Women can’t ‘win’ in this fight”  <— I think that’s bullshit.  We an win by standing strong and proud of what we have and workin it!!  Do your thing, girl!

btw, I love those earrings :]

fuckyeahtattoos:

This is my Ramona Flowers tattoo (from the Scott Pilgrim books). While reading through the books I got to that panel and knew I needed to have it on me. Done by the only person I trust to put ink on me: Mike Groves at Pain and Wonder in Athens, GA.

lol  I want some sort of fandom tattoo (not necessarily SP) but I wouldn’t want it to be corny…not that this is corny…

GAH!  I’m just sayin..
